Bio

Born and raised amidst the picturesque hills of southern West Virginia, Hans Pfaffenberger has found his heart in Louisville, his chosen home for over half his life. After graduating with a degree in Psychology from Transylvania University in Lexington in 1999, he soon ventured to Louisville for law school, earning his degree in 2002 and establishing roots in Louisville ever since.

For over five years, Hans worked at the Louisville Public Defender’s office, where he improved his skills in jury trials and showed strong dedication to helping people through tough times. One of his proudest moments occurred in his second year as an attorney when he successfully defended a client against a murder charge in a jury trial.

After his time at the public defender’s office, Hans shifted gears to representing insurance companies for more than ten years. During this period, he managed a wide range of cases, from injury claims to fraud investigations and insurance coverage disputes. Now equipped with invaluable insights from this experience, he channels his expertise toward advocating for individuals who have suffered injury and loss. His goal is to ensure they obtain the rightful insurance coverage and compensation they deserve.

Hans’s clients often express gratitude for his steadfast dedication and deep compassion, as reflected in reviews similar to this one:

“Mr. Pfaffenberger is well-prepared for his cases. Each litigation is well thought out and put together in great detail. Many other attorneys are only in the business for money, however, Mr. Pfaffenberger takes extra time to investigate all avenues that may help your outcome and treat you as a person, not a paycheck. He is very talented and highly recommended.”

Hans regards George Trimble, a family friend and professor, as the biggest inspiration in his life. Trimble imparted valuable writing skills and instilled in Hans the virtues of integrity and self-reliance.

Hans deeply values the guidance of a former supervisor from his time at the public defender’s office. Inspired by the exemplary courtroom performances of this skilled trial attorney, Hans dedicated himself to studying trial videos and observing firsthand to improve his courtroom abilities.

When not in the office, Hans enjoys playing disc golf, collecting and listening to vinyl records, and spending time with his wife, his two high-school-aged daughters, and his Australian shepherd, Aspen.
