Bio
Jake Burgess became a personal injury attorney to stand on the side of people, not corporate profits. Coming from a background in addiction treatment and helping individuals find recovery from substance use disorders, he saw the impacts of deep personal losses and believed that the legal field could be used as a tool for restoration.
Jake believes that trust and connection are at the foundation of effective advocacy. He takes time to understand each client’s story and helps them navigate the aftermath of life-changing injuries with clarity and care. Every case is personal. Whether it’s a parent who can no longer hold their child without pain because a store didn’t care to clean up a spill, a golden ager whose perfect health has diminished from burns caused by a defective product, or a young athlete forced to be sidelined after a crash, Jake seeks compensation that respects their loss and restores as much dignity as possible.
A graduate of West Virginia University College of Law, Jake has never represented an insurance company and never will. His legal career has been devoted entirely to injury victims and their families.
Jake prepares every case for trial from day one. He refuses to let insurance companies reduce human suffering to line items and payout formulas. He fights not only to win, but to validate each client’s experience, ensure they are heard, and demand accountability from those who caused harm.
When not practicing law, Jake enjoys spending time with his family and watching movies.
