Crusade for Children – Eleven Days of Giving
For 11 days during the Christmas 2015 season, Darryl Isaacs, an attorney and community leader in the Louisville, Kentucky, area, partnered with WHAS Crusade for Children to provide gifts for those with special needs. Giving back to the community is something Mr. Isaacs believes in and practices.
Taking time out of his busy schedule, Mr. Isaacs visited various agencies that dedicate themselves to helping disabled children and those from an at risk environment to attain needed skills in the Kentucky/Indiana area. Whether it’s providing comforters for young people at Uspiritus, DVD players to Kids Center in Louisville for physical and speech therapy or software for children with Down’s syndrome, such donations improve lives.
Rauch Inc., visited on day nine, sends therapists to work with over 1,000 children in their Southern Indiana homes, along with families. By offering physical therapy, the children are able to reach their full potential.
Gilda’s Club in Louisville is a place where anyone affected by cancer and their families find support. A donation was used to enhance the center’s game room where visitors are able to relax. On the 11th day, the folks at Americana Community Center asked for hats and gloves for the children in light of cold weather, another wish that was granted.
In most cases, the agency and the children provide wish lists that are then filled thanks to this attorney’s dedication. The difference this makes in the children’s lives is monumental.
